The DReAM project has won the ASDESR national call for projects, aimed at Accelerating Development Strategies of Higher Education and Research Institutions.
With a budget of more than €11 million over 6 years, this new institutional project is aimed at helping the University of Bordeaux diversify its own resources over the long term, in accordance with its values and missions, and thereby contribute to consolidating its economic model. The DReAM project is in keeping with all the major programmes promoted by the University and its Horizon 2030 strategy.
The resources allocated to the University should allow it to develop a portfolio of targeted activities faster – activities ranging from lifelong learning to European projects and including technology platforms and property enhancement – to make the culture of economic development more widespread throughout the institution and within its components, and lastly to acquire new professional expertise, in particular in marketing and sales, as well as high added-value support functions, such as financial optimisation and strategic management of human resources.
The purpose of the DReAM project is to boost the University’s resources, and thus provide new financial leverage for our priority missions. It will also create opportunities for the development of research and educational activities by facilitating networking between teachers and lecturer-researchers with the University’s partners.
The overall DReAM strategy is based on a pragmatic approach which, without underestimating potential obstacles, is aimed at making the most of the institution's current strengths and its ecosystem, including:
• opportunities offered by an intensive multidisciplinary research university that is international yet remains rooted in its region • initiatives launched thanks to its strong commitment to socio-environmental transitions, in line with the growing demands of society and businesses and, more generally, in phase with the needs of a changing world • a network structure that is open to its surroundings and to the world, encouraging initiatives from its components and communities, and providing access to cutting-edge knowledge and expertise, as well as to forums, technologies and infrastructures.
In view of the activities that currently generate resources, the DReAM project will enable the University of Bordeaux to grow in maturity and expertise thanks to a range of methods, procedures and an organisation adapted to the University’s size and the structure of its environment, including:
