Over the past ten years, the University of Bordeaux has excelled in the field of innovation, with the support of its affiliates and partners. Awarded the "Initiative of excellence" label in 2011, and later integrated into the France 2030 plan, the University of Bordeaux draws on the excellence and multidisciplinarity of its research and education to strengthen its region's capacity for innovation and entrepreneurship, thanks to the skillsets it provides to future generations. The University of Bordeaux maintains fruitful, long-term relationships with organisations of all sizes.

From the initial concept phase through to implementation, the university and its affiliates - Aquitaine Science Transfert and ADERA - provide support to socio-economic partners, using tools and several dozen members of staff to facilitate interaction with the 80 research units and 100 or so platforms in the Bordeaux ecosystem.
